Snapshot Report post Posted April 18, 2010 First and foremost, the concert was excellent, at least in my opinion! I got ot the fair at 5:00 p.m, had a couple refreshments at the beer garden walked around and checked a band at a different stage. Got oto the main stage area at 6:30. Called Bob, Ted's road manger at the appointed time. No answer! Left message on voice mail. Waited a few and talked to the security guard. He could not give me answer. Called the road manager again, finally he answered and met me at the side gate. He said " I will take the shirt", and I said " can I give it to Ted in person"? He said" Not tonight"! . So, who am I to argue with a road manager that probably see's hundred's of guys like me wanting a face to face with Ted. I was crushed! All day I was looking forward to meeting Ted! But at least he got the shirt and letter, and included some tidbits into his show about Coueswhitetail.com. So, fast forward to the middle of the concert. In between songs, Ted is talking about our guns and freedoms and then he mentioned " There is good backstraps to be found at websites like Coueswhitetail.com" Me and the people I am sitting with give each other a high five. O.k so we got a little publicity out of it in front of a few thousand people. So, Ted has the shirt and the attached letter mentioning Amanda and a link to her website. I also mentioned that if he has the time, to stop by and say hi to all his fans and supporters. I aplologize for any miscommunication. When I talked to Ted's road manager I thought I was going to get some face time, or maybe I just made the wrong assumption. Ted has my number and email on the letter as well as the website address, we will see if there is any communication...............To be continued! Desertbull, During the encore song of "Great white Buffalo" Ted brought out his bow and flaming arrow. Since he did not have a pasty white boy with a Coueswhitetail.com shirt on his head to shoot at, he shot his guitar instead. You can part company with $550.00 another time Sorry for the bad pics. After I met with the Road Manager there was a million people already packed around the stage and I was too far for good photos. I have been to many concerts at the Pima County fair. This was the most crowded I have ever seen it. Sorry, but I tried my best. Thanks Tony for your help! I will try again another time!

Snapshot Report post Posted April 18, 2010 I don't have cable or sattelite where I am at. Someone will have to keep an eye on the, "Spirit of the Wild" Shows. On a side note: has anyone seen that website " The people of Wal-Mart"? I think I will have to start a "People of the Fair" webiste. Quite a few characters at the fair
Snapshot Report post Posted April 18, 2010 Well gang, guess what.? I just got off the phone with Ted Nugent. He took the time to call me this morning, and thank me for the shirt, and asked if I liked his mention of the backstraps of the website Coueswhitetail.com. How cool is that. I think that is fantastic that he took the time to call. I have always been a huge fan of Uncle Ted, and I will be for life. Ted, If you are out there, thank you my bloodbrother, not only for a great show, but for all you do. We all share the passion of the true spirit of the wild. Someday I hope to shake your hand, and thank you in person!

TJ If that was your brother in law, then he has Ted's voice down pretty good. My phone said "unknown" when the call came, so I was not expecting my hero and rock and roll legend to be on the other end. I got a little tongue tied When Ted did the song "Fred Bear" last night, it was awesome. That song always gets to my heart.

Outdoor Writer Report post Posted April 18, 2010 Brent, Well, can't say we didn't try. Sorry you didn't get to actually hand the shirt to Ted. I'm glad he had the courtesy to call you, though. That was almost as good. Short story: This goes back to the article I posted and how it came about. Years ago, back in the '80s before the Web came into existence, my best friend, who lives in MD, and I ran a huge conglomeration of of outdoor-related forums on Compuserve. At the time, it was THE place to be. Of course, one forum was dedicated to hunting, and one of the sections was "Ted Nugent." He was personally very active there for years, so we had lots of message exchanges. When I found out he was going to be here in Phx for that concert at Desert Sky, I mentioned that I would like to interview him for the article. A few days later, my phone rang at 6 a.m. It was Ted calling from a limo on his way to an airport in CT. He had called information for my number. End result: He left me and my oldest son two tickets, as well as a pass to enter his "Bloodbrothers" meeting before the concert, at Will Call. We did the interview before he went on stage, and he told me to come back there again after the show to party a bit, which we did. Now here's the amusing part: Our tickets were in the reserved section, dead-center and about 10 rows back from the stage. When the warm-up band started playing, my guts started vibrating and my ears began ringing because we had TWO humongous amps pointed at us from less than 25 ft. away. After about five minutes, we got up and went up to the open seating on the grassy hillside for the rest of the concert. On the way, I handed our reserved seat tickets to a young couple, hoping they might enjoy the close-up noise more than I did. End of story. Amanda, I'll see if I can get him to stop by here and at least say "hi."

In the letter I mentioned that the, gift of the shirt, was not just from me, but from all the good people here at CWT.com Initially, I was disappointed in not being able to hand to him in person and get a quick photo op. But there were alot of VIP's that had paid to meet Ted, so I certainly understand.
