Please read! If you have a couple of hours on Saturday morning April 24th, we could really use your help. Those of you who live on the west side of the valley are urged to help! Those of you who have already agreed to show up, Thank You!

Please Pass This On!

Dear Sportsmen and Sportswomen,

As most of you know the two primary sponsors of SB 1200 / HB 2189, the Game & Fish Commission Appointment Recommendation Bill,

were Senator John Nelson and Representative Jerry Weiers. Representative Weiers has asked for the sportsmen’s help in making sure that he, Senator Nelson and Representative Steve Montenegro (the three incumbent legislators in Legislative District 12 - all of which supported our bill) qualify to get back on the ballot to run for their respective seats in the upcoming November election. In order to qualify they have to collect and submit more than 500 valid signatures on their nominating petitions. This is very difficult for them while they are in session because of limited availability of time.

We need to step up and help these very supportive legislators in all ways possible. Getting on the ballot is the first step. We need at least 15 people who are willing to walk Legislative District 12 on Saturday April 24 to help collect signatures from 8:30 am to 12 Noon. The organizational meeting will occur at the McDonalds located on the NEC of Dysart and Indian School. Breakfast will be served by McDonalds, maps of walking areas and instructions will be disseminated and the actual walk will commence between 9AM and 9:30 AM. Petition gathering volunteers must be registered to vote in Arizona and a member of the Republican Party or registered as an Independent or with no party preference.

If you are unable to participate in this event, please consider making a contribution to Jerry for his campaign. Checks need to be made out to Jerry Weiers 2010. You may send them to: Jerry Weiers, 5025 N. 81St. Drive, Glendale, AZ, 85303-6010

Historically we do not have a very good track record of supporting candidates, but it is truly warranted in this case. Jerry not only sponsored HB 2189, he is also the sponsor of HCR 2008, the Right to Hunt and Fish Referendum that will go to the ballot in November. His support over the years has been exceptional and we need to show him how much we appreciate his efforts on behalf of Arizona Sportsmen.

Please contact Casey Ratlief at 602-405-2434 to RSVP.

Yours in wildlife conservation,
