BASS Report post Posted August 17, 2005 I just got this as an urgent e-mail The new Sportsmans Warehouse in Mesa AZ will have their "soft" opening beginning Wed evening 8/17 and will offer a 10% discount between now and Saturday on all except electronics & guns, so if you've been wanting a new sleeping bag, tent, dutch oven, or other outdoor related gear, now might be the time to make that purchase and save. The Grand Opening is scheduled for this weekend 8/20-21 and the savings will then only be a 5% discount. We will be on-site doing Dutch oven & Camp Chef cooking gear demonstrations on Saturday so stop on by and say hello. Also, check out their website:www.sportsmanswarehouse.com Mark Wilkins Director, AZ Chapter of IDOS I might have to go check this store out later. I sure don't have much green laying around, but hey, it's a new store!

CouesWhitetail Report post Posted August 17, 2005 I am headed to mesa tonight, but might not have time to visit the store. I knew about the opening and it's been killing me not to be able to make it work out! Some people have been getting $10 off coupons in the mail for the mesa store. I didn't, but my husband found some in the trash at the Post Office. Keep your eyes out, some people just toss them. You can use one per customer per visit. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Well, I had an extra 20 mins or so when I went to the valley tonight for the ADA board meeting, so I was able to stop by. It does look pretty much the same as the one in the north side of town. I looked through the backpacks and didn't see the eberlestock "just one" pack. They had one by them called the gunslinger. Not sure how different the two are. I also looked for the moultrie digital game cam and didn't see it. The cheapest digital cam they had I think was 129 bucks. They had some 35mm ones for like $79 if I remember right. I didn't have enough time to really shop, but it is great to have so much selection so much closer to me. I will be happy to go back when I have more time. Amanda
WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Amanda I was in there looking for the Just One and it was right below the gunslinger, you couldn't tell them apart until you pulled it off the rack. Looks pretty good. I think I like it alot.
BASS Report post Posted August 18, 2005 So they all look the same. I was hoping for each one to be different, but oh well, it still is nice to have around. I didn't get a chance to go out there yesterday, but might get to stop by today.
.270 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 so is it open today? i might hafta take a little detour on the way home. i need some carbine ammo. has it got all them same plastic antlered mounts as the other one? oh well, at least they have good prices on stuff. wonder how they're gonna do after cabelas and bass pro open up? WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Bass-just to clarify my statement, the way they were hanging on the racks made them look alot alike. When you take each one down, they have their own features and look different. I'm going back today to look at them some more.
COUESAZ Report post Posted August 18, 2005 I just got back from there and they have everythink I want but not the one thing I was looking for. I am looking for a fleece jacket that the arms will zip on and off of. It would be nice to just have the arms in the back pack not a full other jacket. Chef Report post Posted August 18, 2005 I went with a friend from MM.com last night. He introduced me before to the gentleman that owned a lot of the mounts in there. Low and befold we saw him there too. Even the four full mounted sheep in the entrance are his. Hard to believe he had them all in his house before this. BASS Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Yep, it's just about the same. I felt like I was in Phoenix when I walked through the door. Oh well, I will never have any money every again now that it's only 15 minutes from my house. The good thing about it being in PHX, was that I wouldn't go over there every time I needed something. Instead I would make a trip every three months or so, usually by then I had talked myself out of what ever it was I wanted. I did get out of there pretty cheap this time (I didn't have much to start with) But only spent $10.
