Coues&Bass

Rosey/Apache

Recommended Posts

My brother and I along with a good friend were at Roosevelt Wed. Afternoon through Sat. noon. Wednesday and Thursday, even though it was windy we were able to land a lot of bass on topwater baits and shallow running cranks. Friday and Saturday were a bit slower and we never did seem to get the crappies to bite.

Four of my friends went to Apache and caught more than they usually do. My buddy said they way-laid them. That doesn't mean alot coming from him but they caught several in the slot and quite a few under and a few over. The biggest being 4&1/2lb. so it probably was 3lbs. I always got to read between the lines with this bunch because I've been with them and then heard the story later and always wondered where I was on the same trip. They are a blast to fish & camp with but they kind of streched the trueth alittle when it comes to fishing, hunting, or anything else for that matter. You ought to here the stories around the camp fire. Always good for a good laugh. Life is good! :)

TJ

ps...... they caught them on split tailed jigs, 1/4-3/8 weight white and crawdad color, 5-15ft. of water. Good luck!

I fished saturday and three of us got 38 bass with four overs using T-rig worms. Fish are getting shallow and the bite was hot for the first four hours in the morning then slowed down. We were on Roosey.

Love this forum and thanks for the info. I was planning on putting in at Windy Hill or Badger Springs and fishing the Salt end on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

already got the sinko's stocked up and spinnerbaits.

What side of the lake, Salt end or Tanto? coves or points.

thanks hope to see some of you on the water.

GPS cord. Not really I know how much everyone on the forum likes that question!

Well we had a pretty good trip to Rosey. We fished the backs of coves on the salt end. most of the fish came on sinko's but we did catch some on jerk baits and top water. Only had one over 16 1/2" sorry no pics. Tried for some night time crappie but never even got bit.

Apache was a little harder to catch fish. I hooked into a very Large Smallie, The fish jumped straight out of the water and spit my crank bait right back at me! My friend caught 1 12" walleye and a yellow bass on a small crank. The fisherman we talked to were catching fish mostly on shad colored cranks, small spinners and spoons.

There was a two day tourney going on at Apache, anyone know who was hosting it? All the boats had a yellow elastic band on their motors with the # they drew for that day.

We went out Sunday and caught 12 in about 4 hours. No sinkos, worms, cranks worked for us just white spinners and chartruse spinners in backs of coves very very very shallow 10' and less we were in. Was a great morning on the water and the bite seems to slow way down at around 9:00 to 10:00.

We fished Apache saturday morning. Don't know what tourney was there but saw the bands on the motors. We fished for 2 hours before the TM bracket broke. Two of us had 7 fish and I lost a good one at the boat. All on blades. Fixed the TM and fished Roosey for a few hours before dark and caught another 10 or so. Roosevelt was jammed with boats saturday as well. The Tonto Basin Inn was packed saturday night so it must have been the Big Bass Days crowd.
