I have 30 inch down rods on the cieling fans in my bedroom and they started swaying. My wife asked me if I had bumped them because it was very odd. I thought it might have been an errant breeze or something. I couldn't believe it when I logged on to the net tonight and saw that an earthquake had happened in baja at 3:40. Right about the time the fans started moving. I live in Safford.

We live down here in Yuma and man it rocked us pretty dang good. It was the worst earthquake I have ever felt by far. Stuff got knocked off shelves and a few friends had damage done to their homes. We felt it for a good 30 seconds or so and had probably 10 after shocks after that. The after shocks were stronger than any quake I have felt in a long time. Pretty scary when it was going on. I grabbed the kids and ran out side. I know thats not what you are suppose to do but we got out there before the bad part hit. I could definetly go with out another one of those for a long time. That sucked.

That explains everything we live down here in between Maricopa and Gila Bend. I was laying on the couch watching my wife play the wii and all the sudden the house started shaking, I looked at my wife and said what the heck was that (but I used other words) her reply was maybe we are being bombed and kept playing the wii. I haven't seen the news I know its wishful thinking but I hope no one got hurt.

My wife and I didn't feel a thing here in Tucson. We used to have earthquakes every couple of years when I was growing up in Yuma in the 1940s and 1950s, though.

My wife and I felt it in Casa Grande. I thought my dad was moving the stool at the counter but couldn't reach it from where he was, and my wife noticed the light over the kitchen table moving and thought it was a breeze! Dang wierd ! Maybe thats a warning of whats to come !

My wife and I were laying down on the couches in our great room this afternoon and she asked if there was a window open in the house because the chandeliers that hang from the ceiling on 8 ft. chains were swinging. No windows were open but we know now what caused it. Never felt any movement though. I'm in SE AZ about 10 miles from the NM border.
