DesertDiesel Report post Posted April 1, 2010 If you all recall. 2008 was a very wet year. As a result, the Bulls had tremendous antler growth and there several huge, dare I even say world class bulls taken that year. 2010 is shaping up to be another awesome year for rain fall. The hills are green and the tanks are full! Congrats to all those who've been blessed with tags.
Snapshot Report post Posted April 1, 2010 Yes indeed! I don't have a elk tag this year, but I am hoping for great horn growth on the deer this fall.
TAM Report post Posted April 1, 2010 That is one of the reasons I put in for unit 10 and lucky for me I pulled the archery bull hunt. Although I don't have much experience with the unit I knew back when it was application time that we were having good winter moisture which should mean big bulls. Lucky for me I live in Prescott and will be able to get plenty of scouting in. Hopefully we'll get a little spring rain to help finish off the bulls top ends and then a good strong rut with lots of bugeling! You are right... so far all the makings for a perfect storm! CouesWhitetail Report post Posted April 1, 2010 Indeed....as with last year I think we will have some great antler growth in deer and elk. Amanda
stanley Report post Posted April 1, 2010 OMG!!! Antler growth?? Are you kidding me??? I've got my first archery bull tag ever this year! I myself am NOT worried about antler growth! I'm worried about only three things: 1) Have I learned enough over the years to get close enough? 2) Can I pass on enough spikes/rags if possible to even hope to have a chance at a nice 5X5 or larger? 3) Can I keep the arrow from shaking off the rest if/when the time comes?? In all seriousness though, I'm VERY glad that we're getting a great winter of rain/snow!! S.
Az_Outdoors Report post Posted April 1, 2010 Oh my this is killing me! I was fortunate to draw a unit 1 archery bull tag and I can't stop thinking about it for 2 seconds. All I want to do is start scouting and get prepared. I hope I don't drive myself insane in the next few months.

But well worth the wait! Enjoy a great hunt!
