You can't legislate ignorant or stupid people. The 2nd gives the citizens the right to bear arms. It doesn't say you have the right to bear arms BUT you can't carry it in a purse out of sight, or in your saddlebags, under the seat of your truck or in your briefcase - UNLESS you pass a test and pay a fee for a ccw permit. The left has adulterated and perverted the 2nd as everyone knows, and will continue to do so at every opportunity. Tam is exactly right, you get the chance to gain back a liberty guaranteed by the constitution and the founders, you better take it!!

I certainly understand, and agree, with what you guys are sayin. However, one of the other setbacks is having someone tell us "Where" we can carry our guns. We can carry our guns all day long in the streets, but not in a national park or the multitude of business establishments that forbid firearms.

Now if we could just carry concealed on an airplane, hijackings would become a thing of the past! ;) but then again, if a bunch of people opened fire on a plane everyone would probably die anyway if they started shooting holes in the fuselage.

I have a freind that refuses to fly, because he can't carry his gun, and they won't let him drive the plane  He is a kook!

I can see the headlines now-would be robber at circle k is gunned down by six customers who all had concealed weapons-who in the process all shot each other and acouple of people across the street as well as the store employ. People have to have a license to drive a car and there are still plenty of idiots on the street-think how bad it would be if all you had to do is have a car and presto-your qualified to drive. I can think of several people that I wouldn't want to be in the same room with if a stressful situation arose and they had a weapon. I think we would all be better off if you have to pay your money, get some training, and be responsible to carry concealed-Just like I and many others on this site have done.

As many of you with CCW permits know, it's a big pain in the rear to carry ALL THE TIME. Between finding the right firearm that's light and concealable to carry all day, to buying numerous holsters that make for comfortable and easy concealment. I'm sure we'll get a flurry of people begin to carry at first. Then, I believe, most will deter from it being an everyday thing. I would like to see firearm safety become more mainstream as well. This may make that a reality.

FWIW there was a new law passed and we are now allowed to carry concealed in National Parks.

Comparing a drivers license and a CCW license are apples and oranges. Driving a car is not a "Right" that is protected in our Consitution. The two are not even close to the same.

:)

Thanks for the heads up on the new law. I will look into it.

I understand what jackshoe is saying, and I certainly agree, to a point, about that scenario.

A drivers license is a privelidge, and not a right, like the rights to keep and bear arms.

However, everyday we see people on the road that should not be behind a wheel of a car, and a stupid person driving a car is a very dangerous weapon. Hundreds of innocent people die everyday from accidents caused by negligent drivers. It is a unfortunate price we pay for being on the road.

It is virtually impossible to "police or Legislate" the stupid people in the world.

I may be speculating a bit, but my concern with a new wave of people carrying concealed weapons without instruction in the laws, and proper self defense, is that it may create more unjustfiable shooting and people waving guns around, in a non life threatining situation. I remember hearing stories of that same situation when CCW came to AZ many years ago.

Hopefully this will not give the media, or government, the fuel it needs to impose, or create, any further outcry or legislation against us knowledgable and honest gun toters in the future.
