JimmyHat Report post Posted August 15, 2005 Interesting article. New Fences are not the solution. Drastic measurers need to be taken. The Mexican Government should somehow be held accountable for the situation that causes these people to come into our country. As far as the illegals themselves, they should be treated like problem bears but with fewer chances. Once caught tag them. Second offence put em in cages and transfer them to Argentina or Brazil. firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 see i dont understand the reasoning behind carrying a pistol in your back pack, if your gonna need it, theres not gonna be time to dig it out. it almost seems useless in the backpack, my xd40 stays right on my hip with all three 12 round magazines in the same holster incase i need to use it. i hope i never have to but if i do i dont want to have to dig around the back pack with adrenaline pumpin looking for my pistol, i would rather reach down and grab it and be ready to go! grizzly Report post Posted August 17, 2005 Those polls are completely worthless. They take a poll of foreign-born Hispanics and dont mention how many are legal/illegal. Of course any illegal who is asked is going to say they should be allowed to get a drivers license! I believe the media purposefully omits details like that in their stories to accomplish their own objectives.
KGAINES Report post Posted August 17, 2005 My question is how do they know who they are talking to (legal, illegal, native, non-native) by asking, and that is scientific.
daryl_s Report post Posted August 17, 2005 I don't believe any polls that the media puts out. They polled 1200 people out how many millions that are in the United States????? I don't trust the accuracy of polls and I also think that the media manipulates those polls to whatever message that they are trying to get across. As far as immigration goes.....the problem is in Mexico. The Mexican government needs to fix the problems in Mexico. Why aren't people in Canada flooding the Northern border trying to get to the U.S. at all cost???? Another thing that the article mentions is that even the people in Mexico with college degrees want to come here. Once again we go back to the problem of jobs not being available....which takes us back to the government. My father-in-law has a bio-chemical engineering degree in Mexico and teaches basic computer classes at the local technical school. He has a small house and a car that most of the time doesn't run and he is better off than most of the people where he lives. He was born in Mexico, has lived there his whole life and doesn't want to leave. What does a person in The U.S. with a bio-chemical engineering degree make????? I really don't know but I am sure that they are probably pretty well off. The article mentions the "middle class" in Mexico which as anybody who has ever traveled much in Mexico knows that it pretty much doesn't exist. I understand why people from Mexico want to come here but I think that everybody should do it the right way and follow the right legal steps to do so. KGAINES Report post Posted August 18, 2005 http://news.yahoo.com/s/chitribts/20050817...cowouldliveinus "The former group was inclined to view immigrants favorably and to support the issuance of driver's licenses to people in the country illegally." That statement right there is total crap, I think there is a saying, figures can lie and liars can figure, and these polls are skewed however they want to make them. Some are funny to read though. KGAINES Report post Posted August 20, 2005 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050819/ap_on_...rants_get_ranch News article and it sucks.
COUESAZ Report post Posted August 20, 2005 I do not know how that ranch thing can even be posible. Even if I do not know the story around it. It is just enough to cause some bad problems if you ask me. I am at a loss for words on this one. How an American can have his land given to a persone that Is not one Is sick and wrong in any instance.
az4life Report post Posted August 20, 2005 It is True! The Illegals got the American's ranch in their suit. Apparently he had a past felony conviction and convicted felons are not allowed to carry firearms in TX (where the incident occured). OK he was wrong, but do not award the whole of this man's life to illegals because of that! Send him back to jail, but this is just plain WRONG on SOOOO many levels. The judge was making a point and awarded the mans property to the illegals since he had few other assetts to attach. The illegals stated that they were detained for less than 1 hour. they were given food water and blankets when they were released. I just do not see how this is fair to anyone! This judgement says several things to me. 1. The US goverment I sticking their collective head in the sand and tryig to ignore the MASSIVE illegal immigration invasion problem. 2. The Liberal Lawyer who said this sends a message was right. The message is "you cannot protect your own country from invading forces" and the government will not do it either. The illegals have another reason to come here. Can you say JACKPOT. 3. If you are going to protect your property from illegals, make sure you bury the evidence where no one will find it. These statements might be a bit extreme but thinking about them again, I believe They are true. Be carefull around illegals. They may own the country before long! az4life Report post Posted August 26, 2005 Yup, Heard about it. If you ask me we should bring back the hughey gunships. "Rock This" could be painted on the side as a warning.
Guest Reynaldo de la Torre Report post Posted September 23, 2005 I am planning on going out to hunt deer and possibly javelina in January of this year in 36A,B,C. Just how bad are these units as far as the border jumpers and drug dealers? I read the thread about the guy being murdered in 34. I want to know if it's even worth it. Give me some advice and experiences. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I recommend camping in the open and keeping your eyes and ears - and nose- open. Most bad guys don't want to do what they do in the open. Law enforcment is all around so pay attention where. I had my windows smashed by a CRAZY rancher who thought I was a smuggler, so be careful. I think myskin color also had something to do with it.
