muskrat Report post Posted August 9, 2005 I have a couple of friends that may be coming to bowhunt in January from North Carolina (or maybe South - I always get them mixed up). I want to start thinking about where we're going to hunt. I have hunted 33/37B the past 2 years. I haven't seen too many deer, but I am getting to know the Units pretty well. These guys will probably be shooting video, so I'd like to get them into some critters. I don't think they have a deer preference - Coues or Mulie. I'll be travelling from my home in Queen Creek, so need some Units within an hour or two's drive. Suggestions? Stick with 33/37B? Thanks....

TREESTANDMAN Report post Posted August 9, 2005 42M holds some great muledeer. That is right in your backyard. I've heard there are some whopper Carp in 37B in the flats which is even closer.
bowhunter4life Report post Posted August 9, 2005 42m is great, it is the sleeper unit
az4life Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Used to be good up around saguaro lake. Remember many times driving along that road near the lake dam and having to brake for nice deer in the road. Aint been over there lately but like others said, 42m is a sleeper!
bullwidgeon Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Saguaro lake is 22 and 24B. There are carp and hogs there. There is nothing wrong with with 33/37B. If you are not finding hogs and deer in those 2 units then it will be tough to find them anywhere. Bret M.
muskrat Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Thanks everybody! I've found some sheds in 37B, including one big one. Have seen lots of deer tracks, but all I have seen is 3 does. Of course, I've been looking for pigs :-) I'll probably stick with 33/37B

I was thinking and typing with 2 sides of my brain? thanks for the correction. (still good deer around Saguaro)
daryl_s Report post Posted August 10, 2005 unit 22 is good right on the other side of bartlett lake. We took a small boat with a trolling motor and just stashed it on the other side of the lake and hunted from there. we got on the pigs pretty quick and saw some deer too. also had some friends that have seen some lions back there too.
