Kenetrek Rocks!!

Recommended Posts

I bought a pair fo Kenetrek boots last summer, after almost a year of my buddies telling me to get off my wallet and buy them... I just was not sure that I wanted to spend the $$$.... However, I was having issues with my left ankle and needed to find a good remedy for hunting season. The boots came in the mail and I liked them right away... as the next few months progressed I noticed that the soles were quickly wearing away.... by the end of hunting season they were really worn down..... just on the front (from the beall of my foot forward). Probably how I wallk but considering how much the boots were I contacted Kenetrek and told them my issue... Their response, "Box them up ship them to us and we will contact you if there is any cost for repairing them." So I boxed them up, wrote a note with all my info & what I loved about the boots and what the issue was, then sent them via USPS (cuz it was cheap).... and was starting to wonder if I would ever hear from them as it seemed that several weeks had passed. I got home last night and there was a UPS package at the front door that had Kenetrek printed on the side and it was shipped from Carters Boots & Repair in Bozeman, MT. In the box was my old boots and Brand New soles! ...and not so much as a bill for the return shipping costs... all for free. Awesome!

I love the boots... they solved all my ankle issues last year.... they are waterproof 100% clear to the top... (I never waterproofed them last year... they also water proofed them for me)... and the customer service was Outstanding, IMO!!

Best Boot I have EVER owned.... Period!

Thanks Kenetrek and Carter's!!!

I love mine, but the damned things continue to give me blisters on my heels if I do any extended uphill. I've worn them to death and the things just won't "fix" on the heel.

Any suggestions with this problem? The fit feels great with the Kennetreks, but the heel problem just continues to rub me the wrong way, no pun intended!!

I've done the Kennetrek and Meindel routes, both with worn out heels in the process. I may just be a Danner guy and have to come to terms with it. I continue to go back to them and have never had an issue with any Danner boot. But then again, I wear them everyday whether at work or hunting.

I used mine on a 21 day sheep hunt in Alberta last October and started to feel the same thing after about ten days of intense hiking. What i did was put some mole skin where the rubbing was and it never bothered me again. I know the mole skin might be just a temporary fix but give it a try.

I have the same problem you had Gino, glad you were the guinea pig!

My Kenetreks were new at the start of the season last year and have beat them up worse than any other boot I've owned and they have held up better than any other! It's just the sole up under and in front of the toe area that is worn out on mine. Email me that address if ya can Gino, appreciate it! JIM>

Scottyboy and eHunt, are/were you wearing cotton socks or synthetic? I typically don't have blister problems, but when I do, synthetic socks have resolved the issue. I've completely switched to synthetic socks and use a liner as well, have not had any issues since. They're more expensive, but worth it for me. Most any brand seems to work, Thorlo, Smartwool, etc.

Yeah Eric your beer is on me.... ;)

As for the heal rub, I've not had much problem... however, I also use silk liner socks on the days when I'm going to put miles on. Scotty, I'd try a a molded insole if the linersocks don't help...

I've had to go with the syn socks and moleskin route to wear them.. It works, but I think its kind of a pain to have to always have moleskin on hand just to wear a pair of boots.

I think i'm going to go with the molded insole before I give up on them for good. Like I said, they feel good and I like the fit, but man, those heels kill me without moleskin!

Glad to see I am not the only one with the heel issues. Great boots though and extremely comfortable otherwise. I second the use of the synthetic liner and it fixes the problem.
