CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 16, 2010 Well, I went to the pound yesterday and got a beautiful new dog. She is a chow mix and is a real fluff ball. Very sweet and well mannered. I can't believe someone got rid of her. She is about a year old and has been well cared for, but she was at the pound for five days and they said the owner surrendered her after she was picked up on the street with some kids. So far the only two people I have asked for names have said she should be named Sunshine. I think it's a great name, but my husband is thinking perhaps we should get some sort of name that reflects her Chow background which means some sort of chinese name. Info on the breed: The Chow Chow was used by the Chinese as a working dog doing many different tasks such as a hunter of wolves, sable and pheasant, for herding, cart and sled puller, boat guard, and protection of the home. So far she hasn't played with Julie, although I sure hope she will.
