DEERSLAM Report post Posted August 8, 2005 I was thinking about upgrading my daypack, I currantly use a Crookedhorn Masterguide pack and for backpack hunts I use a Kifaru Longhunter guide series. My main problem with the Masterguide is if I get way back in some where I would like to carry out as much meat as possible since I'm there instead of going back empty handed to get a packframe. I'm looking hard at the Eberlestock Justone pack, www.eberlestock.com, it can expand from 2100ci to 4500ci and with add ons up to 7000ci. The pack has a center compartment that expands and could easily pack out a fair amount or meat/antlers/cape. It also has a cool backscabberd to get your rifle out of your hands yet it is easily accessable. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of this pack? What do you all use? BASS Report post Posted August 8, 2005 I just use a small Camelbak "trophy" pack. It's small. If I pack what I need (knives, poncho, gloves, and GPS) it is just about to explode. I was looking at the badlands 2200 pack. But fear it may be too big. Do you have a link to the one you are looking at?
DEERSLAM Report post Posted August 8, 2005 I just know the web site www.eberlestock.com I don't know how to add a link, sorry.

BASS Report post Posted August 8, 2005 these? http://www.eberlestock.com/Just%20One.htm I think I may like those better than the Badlands 2200 packs.
DEERSLAM Report post Posted August 8, 2005 these?http://www.eberlestock.com/Just%20One.htm I think I may like those better than the Badlands 2200 packs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, the J104. I think this is a pretty sweet pack. Not overly big, but plenty of room for tripod/spotting scope, water bottles or water bladder, raingear and extra clothing and food for the day and other essentials. I also like that it gets your gun out of your hands while walking in while it's dark and walking back out. Also makes it easier to glass. Then it can expand to carry your game out! BASS Report post Posted August 8, 2005 That does look like a really neat pack. I wonder how well it holds a bow though, as it seems like they are focusing more on the rifles, with only a couple pictures of bows on them. Either way it would be nice to have the gear you need in there, and not have to leave it back at camp because you need the room for something else.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted August 8, 2005 I have seen the Just-One at Sportsmans Warehouse. Looks quality made. This year, according to the website, they have the 105 with an adjustable suspension. Doug~RR
KGAINES Report post Posted August 8, 2005 I always seem to have my bow in my hand whether or not it will fit on my pack, I haven't bought a bowsling yet, but I think that is what I am going to do, they do look like great packs though. DEERSLAM I just copy and paste the link right off the address bar, and it seems to work.
COUESAZ Report post Posted August 9, 2005 Bass if you are around the mesa area Go to arizona sportsman and look at the badlands super day. It is smaller than the 2200 And I think it will be just what you need. Mine has about 20 pounds in it and I can not tell it is there most of the day. It rides nice on the hips. If someone is looking for a pack that does more than just one thing. Look at the badlands pack that is there big one It is one big pack and a day pack hooks to it and a fanny pack as well hookes to the top of it. I do not need one that big and if I did that would be the one for me. What is nice about it is you can back pack hunt and camp from your pack and during the day just use the day pack that is full of your most needed items. The fanny pack can be usfull some times as well for all your skining and boning gear.
Dan H Report post Posted August 9, 2005 Deerslam, I have the Justone pack I bought 2 years ago for 200.00 at Sportsman warehouse. Kinda pricee. And they are really nice packs but just like the name I have used it "Just one time". On a 10 day back pack trip into unit 32 in 2003. It was extremely nice packing the boned deer and head out with the rifle in the scabbard. Hands free. It is only good for getting lots of gear in and out and thats all. Day to day hiking with a tripod and all the other equipment for a full day outing,.. withstanding who knows what kinda weather it is useless. To big. I recently purchased a Kelty pack from sportsman warehouse for a 100.00 and it works just as well. I packed a boned out WT and head plus my tripod and some Dec gear and it held up good. The Justone pack fits your back comfortably and has all kinds of room. It is designed for serious back country hunting. I will probably be using it again for hopefully packing out a bull elk this year. And hope it holds up to that weight. Recommend bringing a day pack with you if you get one. I think I might just do that, thanks for the heads up. I like the 2200 but just think it's too big for the hunting I do. I also like their waranty on their packs. For those with day packs, try to use a fannypack with those too. I carry my calls, scents, and a few archery items in it. That way I can ditch my pack, and still have items that I will need.
