game hntr Report post Posted March 3, 2010 Went on saturday morning and did some calling close to home.. i got there around 8 a.m. and i stayed until 10:30... First stand .. after 10 min.. a fox came in and i missed. 2'nd stand... nothing 3'rd stand... after 5 min.. called in 3 foxes..and i got just 1. i missed the other 2. Overall it was a great morning. It was 20 min from where i live so it wasn't big deal. I will post pictures tomorrow. What scent do you guys use when you go predator hunting? one more question. Everybody calls in coyotes.. I call in FOXES.. WHY? what am i doing wrong???? This year i shot a lot of them but didn't shot any coyotes.

willhunt4coues Report post Posted March 3, 2010 I have also heard it is easier to call in foxes than anything else. I would love to call in foxes like you do. Congrats now you have to post pics.
deserthntr Report post Posted March 4, 2010 i was wondering the same thing. i can call in foxes easy but i have yet to call a coyote, and ive seen coyotes where im callng but they dont come in. i like to have a high pitched call for the foxes so maybe should i be focusing on something lower pitched? firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted March 4, 2010 For me the only time I have EVER called in fox is when I have been targeting them... I have never called them in in the desert with cactus, mesquite etc.
willhunt4coues Report post Posted March 5, 2010 Try a more raspy call. The Coyotes seem to loke that more.
huntingfool Report post Posted March 5, 2010 What scent do you guys use when you go predator hunting? I just use whatever I have on me...usually depends a little on what I've been eating.
