grizzly Report post Posted March 2, 2010 I havent seen this mentioned on here so I may be the first to review the new archery range. It is located in the city park that was just built on a landfill on McQueen and Ocotillo. First its free so how bad can it be? There are currently only 6 targets in place, from 10-60 yards. There are an additional 12-15 lanes unused and enough room to stretch it out to 100 yards, but you would have to bring your own target. All of the shooting positions are in lanes from left to right. The targets there are nice, big, bag style with fairly easy removal, although the 1 shot I took at the 10 yard target didnt want to come out. My biggest complaint is that it sits up on a hill with nothing to block the wind, no trees or bushes or anything, so it will probably be good on a calm day but I was being blown around by a not-so-strong wind. My opinion, if you live in the area it will nice to have a free place to shoot, but not worth the drive I made from North East Mesa.

tjhunt2 Report post Posted March 3, 2010 This archery range is actually in Chandler. Thought I would clear that up. I saw a list of activities and classes that you can sign up for but I don't have them with me to post. I'll update if I can find them from my work web page after returning to work from my days off. hunterdude Report post Posted March 3, 2010 Thats cool ! I wish Casa Grande would build a nice range to shoot at. The one we have is not much to talk about! My backyard seems to work just fine up to 50yrds.
rtkemp Report post Posted March 3, 2010 I will vouch for this facility. The City of Chandler really did a nice job. Whoever helped get this added to the development project, THANKS. Its nice to have a such a place in the neighborhood for us in suburbia.
Ron G. Report post Posted March 4, 2010 It's only a couple of miles from me, so I've been there several times already. I just wish it had lights so I could shoot there after dark which would be very nice on those short days of winter. Otherwise, I've enjoyed utilizing it. jeffcros Report post Posted March 4, 2010 This is a VERY clean facility, and nicely laid out. If you get a chance check it out. I agree if they would put some lights in it would make it that much better!
