Who's got Direct TV????

Recommended Posts

I have DISH Network and man I could not be happier. I have VS, Sportsman Channel, Outdoor channel and CCTV (another hunting/fishing channel). I have had direct and man did they screw me. I had Cable and man there were no channels hardly but with dish i never had a problem for over 8 years. Good luck to you guys that have Direct Trust me I UNDERSTAND. Some of my bills were like 400.00 and I had basic. :o

Hmm..... Maybe I should have shopped a bit more! I used to get VS with Cox, but Direct does not offer VS so I'm now without it. Suppose my lazy fanny doesn't necessarily need another channel/reason to veg on the sofa anyway! ;)

When I moved into my current place (an apartment...), I was told that Qwest was the internet/phone provider that had already been 'cabled' in to the complex. I went with that for my high-speed internet, and they are/were in bed with Direct TV so I went with that. Again, maybe I should have shopped Dish. Too late now though, as I'm obviosly locked in to my contract at this point.

On a serious note, I'll definitely be watching my Direct bills closely! How could your bill suddenly go to $400? PPV? I would only assume my monthly bill would go up if I purchased PPV stuff??

Stanley,

It is usually after a directv installation that you have to watch your bill closely, as sometimes they try and slip in extra charges for install service "extras" that you did not receive.

When I had my DVR/HD package installed they advertised it for free install, but they tried to charge me an extra $50.00 for "relocation" of the new system, but there was no relocation involved. They tried to pull a fast one on me a couple of times but I fought them on it and they credited back the difference.

The only reason I ever went with directv is because of the NFL Sunday ticket package. I am a huge NFL football nut, and I love to watch my team every week without having to go to the sportsbar. Directv always outbids Dishnetwork for the contract rights for pay per view Football.

That was back when I was about 19 or 20 and I DID NOT order any ppv. I got into a big fight with them needless to say I won though. But man what a headache.

Best shows, Arrow Affliction, Relentless Pursuits, Maximum Archery and Easton Bowhunting TV! oh yeah and Powder Horn Montana

I just had the chance to meet Chris Brakett at the SHOT show and he went above and beyond what most of the other "stars" would have done. So I am a fan for life!

I also met Jim Burnsworth, while I don't watch his show because the high fence hunting stuff just doesn't do it for me I will tell you he is a pretty cool guy.

The whitetail hunts are pretty boring but I will watch The Crush ;) . And the TV doesn't do Tiffany justice.
