Butters Report post Posted February 25, 2010 I spoke to game and fish about the laws regarding feral hogs and brought up the fact that on there website it said no liscence was required. The response I got from all was that they were told to harvest any animal in the state you must have a valid hunting liscence and that they will right citations if someone is caught shooting feral hogs without a hunting liscence. Just be on the safe side and get a hunting liscence since there are no set laws as of yet. Christian - I'm with you on better safe than sorry. Although I have been in a situation where I found feral hogs and didn't know what the laws were on hunting them so before I went after the pigs I called the WM for the unit to talk to him about the laws, his exact words were there is no laws, kill them all you don't even need a license to hunt them and he also said to let him know when I was done hunting them so that he could go finish the job. I would never go hunting the hogs without a license just to be safe and I always get my hunting license before the first of the year so that I don't have any problems. BTW I never told him where they were I told him nope thats for myself and friends.
HaYen Report post Posted February 25, 2010 I always get my hunting license before the first of the year so that I don't have any problems. Good point. Do any of us here on the boards ever hunt without a license? I enjoy the fact that the money I spend on a license goes to supporting the G&F ALTHOUGH there is a special election being held this year by the State. One of the issues on the ballot would allow the State to tap into the Heritage Fund and adversely affect G&F. Just remember what happened to our State Parks when the State tapped into their funds. FYI BTW I never told him where they were I told him nope that's for myself and friends. NICE!!!!!
