Arizona Griz Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I would like to tell you that my friends and I all shot our bucks this past weekend but that wouldn't be true. We hunted the south end of the Sierrita Mountains and did see a lot of does and fawns. I can only conclude that most of the bucks are bedding very early and staying bedded most of the day. With the full moon out almost all night and the warm temperatures made it very hard to find any bucks (we only saw one spike). There also was a lot of hunters, which in this case, probably made it better with getting the deer to move around, but the wise old bucks still held their ground and remained very seclusive. I will be heading out this Thursday morning to give it a go again. Good luck to everyone. Arizona Griz.

bullwidgeon Report post Posted November 14, 2003 I can not exactly speak for A but I know I was down in 36C helping out some carp hunters around Halloween and then in unit 33 earlier this week and all the coues bucks I saw were buried waaaaaaaaay low in the thick mesquite washes and little cholla flat/rolling ridges way off the sides of the mountains. Think carp country, good luck Bret M.
CHD Report post Posted November 14, 2003 Hey Bret, Do you guys actually hunt fish in Arizona? Holy cow, I have been missing something by hunting Coues deer and muleys. Are you suggesting that Coues deer hunters focus on rivers and lakes? If that's true, I have been hunting them in the wrooooooong places. KGAINES Report post Posted November 15, 2003 HEY BRET, DID YOU SEE ANY JAVELINA IN 33, I GOT DRAWN DOWN THERE FOR RIFLE, AND I HAVE NEVER HUNTED THERE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT MY BROTHER WAS THINKING WHEN HE FILLED OUT THE APPLICATION. ANY INFO WOULD HELP. THANKS HEY CHRIS, I THINK IN ARIZONA WE HUNT ANYTHING WE GET DRAWN FOR, AND IF WE DON'T GET DRAWN THE FISH MIGHT GET AN ARROW IN THEIR DIRECTION. bullwidgeon Report post Posted November 20, 2003 I saw a few pigs in Peppersauce canyon this year, and last year there were alot of pigs back by Chimney Rock. You may want to check those places out, that entire mountain has alot of pigs on it though and it should be easy to find them. Bret M.
