DBArcher Report post Posted February 15, 2010 Well i just couldn't stand it anymore and decided to take a trip out to one of my elk areas to try and find some fresh drops. I figured I was to early but I couldn't stand being in the house anymore. found one small 5pt and a lion kill muley. My question is.... how do you guys normally shed hunt. I walked 4.2 miles according to the gps, but are you guys just walking or glassing or a little bit a both. figured this would be a good discussion this time of year. Thanks Daniel
king4wd Report post Posted February 15, 2010 Daniel, it does seem a bit early for sheds but you won't find any if you're sittin' at home. Fresh lion kill? My preferred method for shed hunting is to wander around the mountains aimlesly then when it seems all hope is lost, look down at my feet and find a monster two point muley shed Those tiny sheds are all I find, but I figure that it's just getting me ready for when I cross paths with the big ones. DBArcher Report post Posted February 15, 2010 Nice sheds jeff, the lion kill was pretty old, but oh well, was real close to our area. I was just wandering like i knew what i was doing
king4wd Report post Posted February 15, 2010 I know you're probably working Thursday, but I'm heading out there on the quad to check my couple cameras. Probably do some calling out at the end of that road before it drops off the edge and roam around for some sheds. Let me know if you can make it.

firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 I see 3 +/- coyotes every day at work... Today I saw 5. 2 pairs were paired up... The other was a single, but he was spooked from his bed by my partner and ran past me... He might have been paired up as well..
king4wd Report post Posted February 15, 2010 @casey, I guess in your line of work it brings a whole new meaning to coyote hunting. Can you bring your own yote bustin' hardware with you?

I had to do a double take. My couch looks exactly like yours, except I don't have near as many sheds as you.
