I caught a fakespy virus from Photobucket Saturday morning while trying to post a sunset photo on TAH.com. Virus blocked my free Avira and Malwarebytes programs, access to the internet and the computer's system restore. When I got rid of the virus yesterday, I found that it had put a proxy in my computer so I could not link to the internet, even though the Internet provider said my connection and modem showed working and a ping with the ISP gave all 4 working responses.

 

The local computer shop that noticed the proxy said to ditch Avira and use Microsoft Security Essentials for a free anti-virus program.

 

A google search for photobucket virus shows many having recent problems, along with facebook & myspace. I used PB yesterday again with no problem.

I got the dang virus. Already removed it. It sure is a pain in the ____.
