Well I can tell that my joking way of finding out if amanda had another moderator is causing some grief and has got alot of folks wondering what has me offended. I am not offended at all.I would have to say that ernesto and his faith in christ is a welcom thing to me as I have the same faith as well. Some guys have hit it on the head about most of it.

 

 

 

I should have sent her a PM or email but know that it takes a while for her to respond because she is out in the field working alot. That is why I thought for some dumb reason that some body a while ago said they helped her watch over the site. ( My Bad guys ). I have never tryed to fight with any one on this site, Other than CHD A time or two. Like I said before I am part of my own problem.

 

 

I apologise for saying anything in the public view. Sometimes you do somthing and wish you would have just shut your mouth before your foot got in it first. I like all the people on this site and what they have to teach us all.

I know what you mean about the off topic items. I have even posted things that were off topic, but humorous or informative.

 

Things like that seem to pop up in any foruMaybe an "OFF TOPIC" category? and a GENERAL HUNTING (NOT COUES) would help position them at least so they don't show up where you would not expect them?

 

Anyway, Amanda does a great job, not being overprotective and deleting posts for minor infractions.

I agree. This site is great. Some of it is a little off topic but I think that that just makes it that much better. I just discovered this site not that long ago and the discussion forum is by far my favorite part.

As a new member to this site I don't know as much as others about CHD, but I think it's pretty obvious that he loves the attention he gets from his posts and does it mostly just to be funny. After all, he does mention that sarcasm is one of the fine services that he offers.

I hope that if anything changes are made that they be minimal. I really enjoy hearing from other hunters that are way more experienced and knowledgeable than I am and if I can get a good laugh along with it, than that's even better.

If you have some suggestions for the site send me an email. And anyone else who has suggestions can always email me. Or you can make a post here.

 

I don't have anyone moderating other than myself and haven't found it to be a real problem. I have considered adding some moderators though and I might do that in the future. I would hate to do it, but perhaps it will be necessary.

 

Remember, you can report posts to me if you find them offensive. There is a button to do that. Several users have done that and it's very helpful to me. You can also do as many members suggested and set the forum software to ignore a user.

 

But I will reiterate if anyone has some suggestions for the site, let me know. I am always seeking input but rarely receive any (other than lots and lots of people saying they love the site - which is, of course, nice feedback to get )

Heres a suggeestion?? This has to do with the main page though. The rifle photo gallery is getting huge, how about dividing pictures in the rifle area by hunt unit??

Thanks for the suggestion. It would take a huge amount of work to go back through the photos and file them by unit. I will give it some thought though. Anyone else think that would be worthwhile? I actually try and mix up the photos from the units (not placing lots of photos from the same unit on the same page) so I don't draw too much attention to one unit or another. But maybe it is an unfounded worry. And of course it would be interesting to look at the bucks by unit.

 

Remember there is a search function on the middle of the main page, just above the what's new table. You can enter a unit number or hunter name or whatever in there and the results get placed right below the area where you enter the search. I don't know how many of you use that function, but it works pretty well. If you want to see all the unit 36 bucks, just type in 36 and it should list all the pages on the site that unit 36 is mentioned on. After you type in the search and hit the search button, you will have to scroll back down to see the results.

 

I agree the rifle section has gotten rather overgrown and I have messed around with different ways to organize it, but haven't found one I like yet. I know some people don't realize they can use the wheel on their mouse to scroll through all the pages that are in that section. If you don't, then you might only see the first 30 pages in the menu.

I just wanted to say thanks for the way this site is run, I think you have done a great job, and have always responded in a timely manner to anything on this site that requires your attention, I think this just kind of echos what Rembrant stated.

I think that if we only discussed Coues deer that there would be days where the site would be kind of dead. Good Luck and God bless.

Amanda you are doing an AWSOME job, I havn't been around for long, but have noticed that 99% of the members here are nice people. Our members also do a lot of personal restraint when it comes to posting.

 

I do like the idea of putting the pictures up by year, instead of unit. I'm sure any of us here would be more than happy to aid in any way to help the site out.
