What triggered camera?

Recommended Posts

I am new to the use of game cameras. I put two out for the first time last week and was happy to get some pictures. I got a few that I am not sure what triggered the camera but look like they may have eyes glowing in the background. What do you think? If they are critters how do I get better pictures? This is fun and I think very addictive.

Could have been a bird or a bat, or a fast critter that moved through before the camera went off. What kind of activation and trigger time does your wildview have?

I have a few wildview cameras and they are slow. It may have been a critter or the brush in the wind. Keep it goin. ;)

Usually blank pics are from plants blowing in the wind or fast moving critters (birds, squirrels, bats, etc). You can use a program like photoshop elements or perhaps even MS Paint to change the light. You can then brighten dark areas to see if there is an animal or not. Doesn't always make it a great pic, but you can usually tell what it was.

I agree these cams are fun and addicting! Just went and checked some of my own cams today.

I have noticed that their is alot going on beyond your flash range that will trip your camera and you can't see what it is but if their happend to be some insects flying infront of the camera, especially one that has a flash it will really attact the bugs like a bug zapper. You won't see them nearly as much with a no flash IR camera. Ben

Thanks to all of you. The insectthing makes sense - one picture almost looked like it was snowing - might have been bugs. I will try the photoshop idea.

Wildviews are slow. I had one take 647 pictures of a leaf....my fault. Talk about a let down! hahaha!

and another not sure if it was shadows but there was several hundred pictures to where I could watch the sun come up and set with the shadows on the ground. But has not detoured me. I think somethings already out of the frame when it triggers...and I believe he is a big one! :D

Try setting up burst mode on your camera where it will take multiple photos. I don't think that would have helped on these photos but sometimes an animal has triggered it moving around and since most cameras are set to take photos 1 minute or more apart, you miss some.

Good Luck.
