Noel Arnold Report post Posted July 29, 2005 Shot my biggest buck while he was eating barrel cactus fruit. This was a Nov. tag. I can not remember if the fruit is still on with the dec. hunt (Since it has been 13 years since my last fricking late hunt) Noel Arnold (Arizona native who can never get drawn for the late hunt)
catclaw Report post Posted September 19, 2005 I would have to say mesquite leaves and wait-a-minute bush leaves and pods. I quess it depends on where you hunt!
Brian Payne Report post Posted September 19, 2005 Noel, I have been putting in for 14 years straight and had several tags but never once been drawn for my first choice for any genus!
Rembrant Report post Posted September 19, 2005 Red Stem Fillery is the little freen forb that kinda looks like small Dandylion leaves. This stuff comes to life when the late fall or winter rains soak the open desert slopes. This is probably the stuff you can thank for pulling those deer out from the cover and out into the open slopes wilst they seem to have their noses glued to the ground. Then they have ice cream for dessert. Mike
