ndawild Report post Posted January 26, 2010 I need some expert opinions on binos. Zeiss 10x40's or Vortex Razor 12x50's which pair would you guys go with? Thanks for the advice
Chef Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Will you be wearing these mostly around your neck for hand held scanning? On a tripod? Quality between the two not being an issue, the magnification is of concern. It's tough to hold 12 power stable when hand held, even the 10 power comes alive on a tripod. Strictly hand held= 10x Tripod= 12x
Red Rabbit Report post Posted January 26, 2010 In 10x, I'd choose the Zen-Ray 10x43 ED2 for a great optical view at less $$. Doug at CameraLand said he may begin carrying them, or you can order directly from Zen-Ray. If you bowhunt or hunt elk or muleys in the timber more, I'd go with something in 6X to 8X. If you hunt open mountains, I'd get two pair, 10X and 15X.

Red Rabbit Report post Posted January 26, 2010 If you are concerned about the weight, consider a pair of Leica 10+15 Duovids.
