C.O.U.E.S. Report post Posted January 14, 2010 Well let me start off by sorry for such a late post, we picked up a new puter about a month ago...and I am still trying to get my technical ducks in a row... (still try'n to resize the good pics Amanda, thanks for your help) October 2009 my boys had drawn, well let's just say the tag "I" wanted them to have...the benefit off filling out the apps. right? cause they don't mind where we go as long as we are hunting some where.... Opening day started off with the regular high hopes and big buck commitments...Anthony, wanted one for the wall, (cuz he is the only one in the house without one)......Damian, wanted a toad also...but he is a little more trigger happy... but, hey if they would be happy with the first buck they see...so be it...It's there hunt.. We high point early and from this ridge, its a great 360 view when the graylight moves in, I send my buddy Josh down the ridge about 40 yds to glass east, until the sun get's the best off him...We start to set up, and it coudn't have been 10 min. and I see Josh try'n to get are attn. man, that was quick but hey...that's hunt'n He has picked up a couple of buck's about 500yds. out ...man what a spot ...we sat kept an eye on them till more light set in, Josh has the spotter on them and the bigger one reveals his bone...Ant takes one look and that's all it took. Well the stalking plan was easy, put them to bed,cut the distance, wait for him to stand...We watched for about an hour and finally they bed...a small three pointer beds in the open.... Ant's buck in the tree's...We drop off the ridge and keep an eye on the little guy. Josh stay's up top to keep a bird's eye view...Anthony,Damian and I get in the wash and the range finder read's 198yds. ....Damian reveal's"if Ant drop's the big one the little one is in trouble for sure" hehehe man I love hunt'n with my kid's...10 min. go by and the little guy can't handle the pressure any more ...he stand's and is sketchy for sure..get ready Ant!...and on que, the bigger of the two steps out....BOOOOOM...he's hit....his back hunched up and he's movin left to right...BOOOOM..BOOM...BOOM...the fever has definately set in....Calm down son he's hit hard..take your time...I can see him behind a tree and believe or not he starts to feed...go figure...Ant can't see him in the scope, I can see him thru the swaros he's bedded...after 10 tense min. he stand's..Ant say's I gott'm ..BOOOM..HE'S DOWN...High fives, hugs, emotional roller coaster slow'n down a bit....We make are way over and couldn't be happier. Is he goin the wall son? for sure he replies......I will be posting Damians hunt as soon as get more time P.S. ...Thank's to my bro Josh Montes, great spot for sure...Oh yeah the pack job to...hehehe...max
