gnoto Report post Posted July 25, 2005 WHT MTNMAN I never got my buck last fall. I pursued a good old boy for a few days but never got a clean shot so I never shot. He drug me over Batamore hill a few times! I passed on a couple young 3x's and one big spike. I got strep throat the day I was heading out and spent most of the week sick as a dog, but hunting! Until I got my legs back under me I mostly sat and waited. Once I was feeling good I got after the big one I mentioned. I had him at about 300 yds twice but both times were striat down the spine and Thats a long shot on the move to hit him in the hind quarter and chase him for a week. My buddy Mo and I tried to head to Arivaca for dinenr Saturday as planned but the BP thought my lack of taillights was an issue so we never made it. I did go back in mid January and there were two of the largest herds of does in an area I never expected to see them. I got in them and waited all day actually most of two days but no buck for me. On the way out the old F150 started to show its age and I got to walk a while until I could get in tough with Luna's towing in Amado. If you ever need help call Luna's. They helped me fix the problem and I was off again. Anyway I can''t get stuck liek that any more so I fianlly broke down a bought a new Truck F-150 Fx4 5.4 ltr. Crew Cab. I figured its been long enough. Lets figure out where you are going to be so we can get together. I spent last year down past the ranch North side of Batamore. I expect to start scouting and Archery soon.
