reddog Report post Posted July 20, 2005 I was just wondering if anyone has ever purchased maps from huntscout.com? I guess they sell you topo's with areas highlighted that are suppose to be good hunting. I found them on the web and just wondered if they were worth it, and do they actually gave a person a good jumping off point for a unit they may not be familiar with? Thanks Reddog
KGAINES Report post Posted July 20, 2005 Reddog I used a service like that probably about 4-5 years ago, I can't remember the name though, check the prices and see how much they charge, check the price of topo maps, check with the guys on here, if it isn't to pricey it is probably worth it, and then just scout the areas, that you like on the topos. I wouldn't go anywhere without scouting or having someone with me that knows the area, otherwise about the time you start to find whatever your looking for your hunt could be over. What unit are you needing this for.
bowhuntinmaniac Report post Posted July 21, 2005 Get all of Az and NM for $150 with Maptech at Wide World of Maps
Dan Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Terrain Navigator is a good one too. It has all the AZ topo's with 3-d veiwing of the areas. Has all kind of different bells and whistles that really come in handy.
Lance Report post Posted July 23, 2005 Check out the "Scout 4 U " page on www.tlohunting.com It's the same sort of thing and yes it does work. But it also depends on the kind of hunter that you are. Can you take the info and run with it? Some hunters can be led by the hand to a different group of bucks every day of the season and still never tag out. And then blame the person trying to help them for it. The info that you get is hard earned and true but they still cant pull the trigger for you. So it depends on your expectations and your skils. Most outfitters want a good name and there cliants are there best addvertising. Most outfitters don't guide because it makes them rich. They love to be out there just like everyone else so you can bet they will try hard for you. I know that TLO's "Scout 4 U" is this way and "Hunt Scout" is likley to be this way as well. Good luck.
