cmc Report post Posted January 4, 2010 I've been hunting 34A for the past 18 years. I've hunted it more times solo than with someone by probably a 3 to 1 ratio. Winter time, as Red Rabbit witnessed, is a slow time for UDI movement in the unit. They are there and I've seen my share on Dec & Jan bow hunts but not worth not going out. Carry a snubby pistol or the like and buy a SPOT. Both are just piece of mind more than you'll need to use them in emergency. The SPOT for your better half and the snubby for 'if' you run into trouble. Then again... 33 doesn't have any issues like 34A does and many more monster bucks.
