GameHauler Report post Posted December 21, 2009 We all enjoy seeing BIG animals and beautiful mounts but lets face it, most of us are still hoping We have some nice mounts in the trophy room but nothing really to write home about if ya know what I mean. Best one we have is Linnea's Antelope at 76-7/8 which is not BIG but what a fun time with a 10 year old Now how about the critters we chose to display but jut don't make the room. The first picture is of my first 3 Bulls that rest above my desk in the garage (MAN CAVE) The top Spike is my first ever Elk hunt and in unit 4a. What a great learning experience as it was also the first for my partner. Pretty proud of pulling it off with no help from someone in the know The 4X4 is one of a Bull I passed several times on one those Great years that only happen once in a while on the tough Nov. Archery hunts. This Bull came in again on day 13 which is normal for me to harvest on He gave me a good shot, felt good holding the bow and it was Meat in the Freezer The 5X5 is my first Archery Bull and I was so Happy I drove everyone in camp crazy My old 43 Willys made about a 1 minute trip out of a normal 10 minute, beat the crap out of you 4 wheel trip and a 3 minute drive on dirt road into 30 seconds God I love the memories The second picture is of a couple bucks that brought back Buck Fever I had lost since I was about 10 years old Not going to go into details on this hunt but all I can say is: I would have sworn they were both OVER 100" What Fun And thanks to my good friend for making it so. Last picture is of a couple of really happy to have critters. The top one is a Bull I never thought I would have a chance to hunt for. It was taken in 2003 on the last day but was after the same week I Harvested My Desert Bighorn, so it's nothing short of a nice last day Bull. I may have never had a chance for it had it not been for a good friend who was also on the Sheep hunt. Thanks Dick Below, that is Linnea's First Bull. Her second Bull pushed my 5X5 out of the room and above my desk Good for her but watch out kiddo, my time is coming and I will work HARD to put you to shame Lets see what you guys have displayed that "didn't make the room" Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

bowhuntaz1 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 The first pic is of my one and only coues. He is not hanging anywhere. He is still a trophy to me. The 2nd pic is of my one and only elk. She was taken in the December hunt on the 4th day of the hunt. It was hard; but we got her. To me the trophy is not the elk but what is behind it. Me and my dad. No wonder you were able to get him, You had him tied up I was so Dam excited that I tied his feet together threw him over my shoulder like a doufle bag, and hauled him out the woods whole! luvdemcoues Report post Posted December 22, 2009 This is my only deer I have ever killed. It is just a little guy, but the cool thing about him is that I have him on a trail camera picture as well thanks to my hunting buddies. I shot him at 40 yards at 2:00 in the afternoon. It was about 95 degrees but felt like 120 in full camo. He went about 10 yards and dropped. I have also shot this cow elk. Another really cool hunt. She came in to a water tank all by her self. I shot her at about 25 yards with a 30-06. I had just reloaded for the first time. I loaded Barnes triple shock x bullets. I shot her and she immediatley started running. I shot her again at 15 yards (she was running past me) and then she ran uphill and out of sight. I looked everywhere for blood. Nothing. Freaked me out! To make matters worse, I could find any of the brass. I started to panic and thought that maybe I had crimped the bullets way too tight and the bullet hadn't come out. I found her about 40 yards up the hill in a thicket. The reason for no blood was there was about an inch and a half of fat between her skin and the meat. WadeNAZ Report post Posted January 18, 2010 My 2008 Coues is the first, and to this point only, deer I have harvested. While he may not make into the trophy room on size alone, the experience of that hunt and fact he was my first deer earned him the honor of first game animal to land a spot there. Now if i can just get some company for him. I shot this coues from 325yds with My .280 Browning A-bolt Stalker using 140gr Fusion Cartridges. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
