Here is a table i made up.

the top row is the ranged yardage

the left side shows degree of angle

If you bring the two together it will show the yardage that you should hold for at the angle and distance that is ranged.

example: 400 yard shot at 45 degrees shoot for 283.

for some reason the top line moved to the left a bit

hopefully this helps

200 300 350 400 450 500 550 600

15* 193 290 338 386 435 483 531 580

30* 173 260 303 346 390 433 476 520

45* 141 212 247 283 318 354 389 424

60* 100 150 175 200 225 250 275 300

AIM LOW !!!!!!! with that being said at distance less than 300 yards I was always told stay in the kill zone unless the up or down angle is greater than 25 degrees .....

I use the "3-4-5 rule" from construction work. The sum of the square of the sides equals the square root of the hypoteneuse. Thus, 3 on one side, 4 on other side = 5 on hypotenuese. Can be switched around to find other unknown sides.

Or did someone already say that?

i use the 3-4-5 all the time buildin' stuff. but when you're shooting a really long ways, you need to know as exact as possible where to aim. when you get that far out just being off 10 or 20 yards can make ya miss. bullets are going almost straight down way out there. i know that next time i'm usin' FARKILLER, THE RESURECTION, i'm gonna be more readier. thanks for all the info. Lark.

Yes sir.

With my flat shooting 6.5 WSM, the extra drop from 700 to 725 yards is 8" That will throw you out of the chest of a coues deer with a center hold. If you do not correct for a ranged 725 yard shot at a 15* angle, you missed, as the horizontal distance is actually 700 yards.
