Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted December 2, 2009 So lets hear some Christmas recommendations on trail cams. Is there really such a thing as a trail cam that will send photos to my computer?? I am trail cam illiterate......
BowNut Report post Posted December 2, 2009 Yes there is but the camera must have cell service and I assume a monthly cell bill to get pics off the camera. They should have them in Cabelas and Bass Pro I would think.

azhuntnut Report post Posted December 2, 2009 We have been using the Moultrie Gamespy I45 with the wireless GPS modem for a couple months now. It has saved us alot of trips out to check cameras, as well as leaving the area alone. It uses the AT&T cell service. I would recommend getting the solar panel or it will eat your batteries quickly. Here is a recent pic of some bucks using this camera. David

CouesWhitetail Report post Posted December 2, 2009 Of course I am partial to the Covert Cameras that I sell here on the site. They are the smallest cams out there and have outstanding battery life and video and photo quality. Personally, I enjoy hiking out to my trail cams. But I suppose if you don't live near where you have your cams, then getting your images sent to your computer would be handy. But of course that all comes at an extra price. read more about Covert Trail Cameras and see sample photo and video here: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/trail_cameras.htm One of our forum members wrote up a review of the Covert 2 here: http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...showtopic=13780
Bucks_N_Yotes Report post Posted December 2, 2009 We have been using the Moultrie Gamespy I45 with the wireless GPS modem for a couple months now. It has saved us alot of trips out to check cameras, as well as leaving the area alone. It uses the AT&T cell service. I would recommend getting the solar panel or it will eat your batteries quickly. Here is a recent pic of some bucks using this camera. David To add to David's, The AT&T Cellular Modem works in places where you would think It wouldn't Its got a lot of power behind it! We get coverage where you don't with cell phones that use that service. Once a photo is taken, its usually about 30 sec and you will have photos sent to you via the internet. The Modem costs $150 and the monthly service starts around 20 per month and goes to 100 per month. You have full control over how many pictures it sends you and once you have reached your monthly limit, it will not let you go over and cost you more money. The smaller image you have uploaded the more you can have send to you. You can have them sent to you in a smaller photo, and still have a higher res. photo on your card for later viewing. You can set it so it goes on vacation mode for a few months a year when your not using it. It sends an email letting you know you have photos, along with a text message. On the management site for the camera, you can change all the camera settings, check battery levels, detailed map of where the camera is taking photos, and be able to edit and send the photos directly to your friends! The really nice thing is if some dumb person takes it from you, brings it home and turns it back on, YOU HAVE GPS CORDS TO THERE HOUSE!!!! With those New I-45, and 65s, they run on 4 d batteries, and the overall size of the camera has gotten smaller. The IR modles are getting about 3 months untill it gets cold, then about 1-2. By adding the solar panel, you will never change batteries again. The 45's sell for $289, and the 65's for $389. They don't have the problems with grass, and wind setting them off like they used to in the older models. They now have 4 differnt photo resulutions to choose from, and you can take Video at night with the IR "No Flash" cameras Even if you don't use the GPS Cellular Modem, their new cameras are outstanding and you will not be disapointed! If anyone has any questions regarding the new Moultrie products, send me a message! Ben
pwrguy Report post Posted December 3, 2009 I think putting out a camera that costs 600 bucks is nuts. I agree with Amanda, going to check your camera is part of the "fun". I currently have 1 out right now that I know would not get cell service. Look at the coverts, I don't have one, but the pictures I have seen posted are excellent. bonecollector Report post Posted December 3, 2009 I bought the Covert 2 from Amanda a while back and I finally put it out today, boy what an adventure. I hiked all the way where I wanted to place my cam at and I forgot the lockbox for it . It would be hard to find but I didn't want to take a chance without locking it up so I went back to the vehicle to get it. I heard a lot of good things about this cam and seen some nice pics thats why I bought it. I will let you know how it works out if I get any pics.
