Which sight?

Recommended Posts

i am trying to decide shat i want, whether the spott hogg wrap 7 pin or the g5 optics XR, i like the floating pin of the XR but if something is past 40 so you adjust to the distance and then you cant get a shot till the animals moves farther you have to let down and readjust so then you have a chance of spooking it, so i am leaning towards the spott hogg but what do you all think?

i use a 7dp. Ive heard the g5 is heavy. never used one though. some people dont like 7 pins either. If you do go 7dp get the small fibers in it. When i bought mine i think they offered 2 size fibers. 70yd is a long ways and the finer the fiber the easier for me

I use the Spot Hogg Boss Hogg... I have the 5 pin model so I am covered from 20-60 but I can then adjust the sight all the way out to 120... It is a sweet setup... If you need more info or want to order one PM me...

I shoot the 7DP Hunter with .010 Fibers. The 2nd and 3rd axis are great. The G5 sight is a good idea, but it's very poorly made and the shade/ring is pretty heavy. I would definitely go with the Spot Hogg. If I were you I would also look at the Armortek sights. Armortek is Tru-Ball's sight company, The sight's look pretty sharp, and the functionality of moving a single pin is way better than the Spot Hogg. Good Luck hope this helps.

I have the 7DP wrap, I would go with it. I spent some time looking at sights and this was the best one I thought. If you are looking to shoot far and accurate this will help you a lot! I highly recommend you get it.

+1 for Armortek sights. Armortek is Tru-Ball's sight company... I had themcustomize on for me but there standard versions are awesome as well! Way more durable than the Spot Hoggs IMO!

Just ordered the Sure Loc Sportsman Special, pricey but I wanted a single slider with a 3rd axis level, I have heard thier customer service is second to none.

I have used a multiple pin sight (Spot Hogg 7DP) and found with my bow speed the pin gaping is minimal. Unfortunatly I have made enough "rushed" shots to have learned if I cannot range a animal, to let it walk.

I am very intrigued by the Axcell sights, not sure if I would have purchased one, but definitely would have given them a second look.

If anybody is in the market for a Spot Hogg 7 Deadly Pin with the wrap (4 pins 0.19 and 3 at 0.10) right handed, let me know.....maybe trade for something?

sure loc makes a sliding 3-5 pin sight. i know a couple people that have it and its probably the last sight they will buy. but if you want durable and accurate sight then you want spot hogg. i have both the 5 and 7 pins real deals. great sights but i dont have the time and space to shoot the SDP. so the 5 pin will do.

I have the G5 XR on both of my bows. Both are sighted in from 25-100 yards. My top 3 pins are 25, 40, 50 and the rover pin sits at 60. Perfect for hunting situations. There arent many shots I would take over 60 yards, but I love being able to group at 100 at the range.
