BAG'N'TAG Report post Posted November 26, 2009 Day 1: Our hunt started out dark and early! My Dad and I heading down south early Friday morning and got into position right before sunrise. We glassed up some bucks that morning and we tried to put a stalk on them but they dropped off the top of a ridge and onto the far side. On our way back from our first stalk we found ourselves on a ledge over looking a wash and about ten illegals! Lucky for them, they didn't see us. Later that evening, I glassed a nice bedded fork and got into position on him. He finally stood up at about dark and that's when the buck fever kicked in. I ended up shooting just over his back! Day 2: Saturday morning couldn't come fast enough! Brian F. (azpackhorse) showed up at camp before sunrise to help me out. He glassed the same group of bucks that I had seen the previous day and we tried to put another stalk on them but I couldn't get a shot off before they bedded in some thick stuff we couldn't see. Later that evening we went to the "top secret big buck" area and as we were hiking to our glassing point Brian said "I've got a buck!". After I got the shooting sticks out and settled down a little, I let the lead fly! I heard Brian yell he's down! All in all, it was a great hunt and I couldn't have done it without Brian's help! Thanks a lot Brian!

WFGinNM Report post Posted November 30, 2009 Packing out that way sure makes for a neat picture. I never think of it, I'm so used to elk that the knives come out and the animal comes out of the woods in pieces. Good job, --Bill
