cpugsie Report post Posted December 12, 2009 I would consider higher power than 3x9 , consider 4x12 or 14 for longer range . +1 on the higher power. If long range is your desire you should be looking for a used scope with higher power in your price range. Good luck!
AZbowhntr Report post Posted December 13, 2009 I would also consider a higher power scope. I currently have the Zeiss Conquest 3X9 and wish I had gone a little higher power when I bought it. I am going to upgrade before next season. I love the clarity but wish there was just a little more magnification.
Huntin'AZ Report post Posted December 13, 2009 I have the Burris Fullfield II 4x12 on my 7mm. It's a good scope for the price. Would definitely recommend it.
GameHauler Report post Posted December 14, 2009 Not to cut down the Burris scopes but: I have several but all in handgun scopes. I really don't like them but they were the most recommended. Go with what your eyes like but if possible save some $ and step up now. It is cheaper then upgrading later in the long run. Good luck choosing and hope you like it after the purchase
luvdemcoues Report post Posted December 14, 2009 I put the Nikon Buckmaster on my 270 WSM. It is the 4x12 with BDC. I absolutely love the scope. My brother picked up a Leupold from Sportsman's that has the BDC. It was about the same price. Pretty cool scope too. I went with the Nikon becasue I was like you... I wanted a decent semi long distance scope for around $300. So I felt like the added magnification was what I needed along with the BDC and liked the clarity of the Nikon.
