cpugsie Report post Posted December 12, 2009 I would consider higher power than 3x9 , consider 4x12 or 14 for longer range . +1 on the higher power. AZbowhntr Report post Posted December 13, 2009 I would also consider a higher power scope. I currently have the Zeiss Conquest 3X9 and wish I had gone a little higher power when I bought it. GameHauler Report post Posted December 14, 2009 Not to cut down the Burris scopes but: I have several but all in handgun scopes. I really don't like them but they were the most recommended. Go with what your eyes like but if possible save some $ and step up now. It is cheaper then upgrading later in the long run. luvdemcoues Report post Posted December 14, 2009 I put the Nikon Buckmaster on my 270 WSM. It is the 4x12 with BDC. I absolutely love the scope. My brother picked up a Leupold from Sportsman's that has the BDC. It was about the same price. Pretty cool scope too. I went with the Nikon becasue I was like you... I wanted a decent semi long distance scope for around $300. So I felt like the added magnification was what I needed along with the BDC and liked the clarity of the Nikon.
