Got another one!

Went out a few weeks ago to do a little glassing and came across this big male. Thankfully there wasn't too much damage caused when I shot him so I took him to Bret at Game Trail Taxidermy to have a life size mount done. Sorry for the poor picture quality but all I had was my cell phone.

Nice! I saw a bunch down in 33 a couple years ago. Didn't shoot b/c I didn't want to spook any possible bucks in the area. I read your other story about them and it reminded me of something funny a guy told me a couple weeks ago. He said he shot one out of a pack and the others took the carcass with them. Said they all spooked when he shot then immediately came back and snatched up their dead buddy and took off into the brush. Weird little critters.

Yours should make a nice mount.

 

The first time you see one, it leave you wondering what they are, kinda like a cross between a monkey and a coon. Very interesting to watch.
