Hunt7112 Report post Posted November 21, 2009 Trying to duplicate the factory load according to remington website 150 grain scirocco with a muzzle velocity of 3325 ft/sec to avoid buying new turrets. Wondering if anyone has any input. Thanks.
BRYCE CANYON Report post Posted November 21, 2009 I am not an expert but I would use 85 grains of IMR 7828 with the Scirocco and you should be close. I am using a 150 gr. Ballistic tip and get my best accuracy with 83 grains of 7828.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted November 21, 2009 Have you chronographed the factory load to check if you are indeed getting 3325 fps from your gun? I would not rely on the factory figures. Choose a slow powder like IMR 7828, H1000, RL25 and work up to the desired velocity using a chronograph. No guarantees that the load will be the most accurate at the desired velocity. You may have to try more than one powder and bullet seating depth to get the accuracy you want for a given velocity.
Hunt7112 Report post Posted November 21, 2009 I have not chronographed it, probably putting to much faith in their figures. I will try your suggesstions, and play around with it. Thanks for the input
