Bird Dog Report post Posted November 18, 2009 Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has loaded the e-tip bullets? Specifically, I am thinking about the 150 gr. or "new" 168 gr. in a .308 caliber. I have been using the 168 gr. .308 in CT Ballistic Silver tip with great results. I don't want to change bullets unless I have too and thought by going all copper I may get lighter bullet faster with good weight retention out of my .300 win mag. I shoot the 168 gr. CT's at 3277 in a 26" with great accuracy.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted November 18, 2009 I tried the 150 and 180 E-Tips in my two 300 WSMs and accuracy was generally poor. For deer, I would stick with your current load of 168CTs. If it ain't broke...
Bird Dog Report post Posted November 18, 2009 Thanks for you reply. I don't want to change, but with the regulations of differing states I have been pondering the possiblilites mostly. I can say the 168 CT bullets are hard and are quite accurate for me. On coues they don't wreck them ~200 yrds. which makes table fair quite nice.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted November 18, 2009 Isn't Kali the only state that requires unleaded bullets for some areas? If forced to cross the unleaded bridge, other options would be the Barnes TSX/TTSX and Hornady GMX.
