CouesWhitetail Report post Posted November 16, 2009 Nice to have some wildlife around....although one of the guys from my church is all angry at his neighborhood javelina for eating on his rose bushes and his tomatoes....
pwrguy Report post Posted November 16, 2009 Yeah.. Ibeen getting the same kinda visitors every night. They really like our compost pile and I don't have the heart to lock the poor buggers out with this dry weather. They come in for a drink and snack at least a couple times a week, maybe I'll draw an archery tag and cull one of em. :0)
huntingfool Report post Posted November 19, 2009 Little suckers are neat when they come around, but usually they come sometime in the late night and knock over everybody's trash cans. What a mess, they tear open every bag So I had to rig up a tie system, but if I ever forget to latch it they remind me with a yard full of my own garbage. They don't even have the decency to show up at like 8pm when I can at least see them before bedtime. Ok rant over. Last time I saw a herd there were about 15 of 'em with a few little tiny ones. They seem to have young year-round. Prolific little buggers.

Which one is the boar? If it is the one on the right he looks hunched up making him look bigger....I have seen them so big their stomachs almost touch the ground. Great pics how close were you? My dad has been having them come through the yard almost every night and a coyote comes through almost the same time every day at about 2:00 pm. Thanks for sharing I can't wait to chase them in FEB. The boar is the one on the left, and he isn't "puffed out" ha and i was about 5 or 6 feet away lol. They have come almost every night! elecshoc Report post Posted November 20, 2009 Where I live on the west side, we have a little group come in every couple days or so. On tuesday night just as I was taking my dog out, I noticed a young lady walking towards her apartment when she disappeared between two buildings. Not even a second later she came running out full tilt with a sow running full boar right behind her. I yelled out which distracted the javi into turning away from her as she was jumping on the trunk of her car. The javi was no more than 5 feet behind her at that point. The javi stood guard behind a dumpster for a couple of minutes, while the girl caught her breathe sitting on her car. I managed to move the javi without getting it riled up again. After walking her to her building she said thanks, but I'm not sure how lucky she really was. It got my adrinaline going for sure.
