Texas hog hunting?

Recommended Posts

I have always wanted to do a Texas hog hunt, maybe combined with some other species of deer or rams. Does anyone have any leads that they could IM me of some reasonably priced hunts in Texas for this? The best I can find is three days of hogs for $650 (no trophy fees), plus one small Texas dall ram on a low fence hunt, that I am somewhat leery about (license not included). I am trying to convince my wife that we can afford this small trip for me, but it would help if I could find something even less expensive but still offer opportunities. I have to think that this economy has got some people offering deals! I have two other people interested, so at least three hunters would be going.

I could do either bow or rifle, but would prefer not to do a high fence or high trophy fee hunt. I just want to shoot some hogs and maybe an "exotic" or whitetail doe or small buck.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again!

Not Texas, but I have been to Tejon Ranch in California several times. 100% wild and free roaming and a lot of hogs. A real hunt. Rough country.

$450 plus a tag and license.

Contact Pete at Brushy Hills Ranch in Texas archery only no fence ranch 13,000 acres it's only like $70 to hunt brush which allows you to hunt hogs and he only charges $65 or $75 a day as many hogs as you want to kill.

Hey Ya'all!

My wife and I own a travel business specializing in bowhunting and fly-fishing services, we can include your air, rental car, and hotels into a package deal as needed. If you haven't gotten your trip setup yet email me bowfly@destinationagent.com or info@adventurebowhunting.com (website www.adventurebowhunting.com).

Even though we specialize in Bowhunting and Fly Fishing, we can hook you up with guides for just about anything (deep sea fishing, combination hunt/fish trips, etc), anywhere and we will setup every aspect of your trip for you. We will provide you with a complete itinerary packet before you go, in most cases we can even help you obtain your tags and licenses. We can even setup side trips for your wife if she isn't into hunting (golf, cruises, family reunions, skiing, and sight seeing trips).

Check out the website (www.adventurebowhunting.com), then contact us if your interested. It won't cost you any more than if you booked it yourself, and it will save you time and money too.

We also book for many other countries as well. Maybe instead of south Texas, you consider Mexico, or New Zealand or somewhere like that at about the same price as South Texas. You might be surprised how much it costs to hunt other countries compared to the cost of driving or flying to Texas.

Thanks, and good hunting!

Charles

About 8 years ago I went on a Texas Hog hunt with dogs. That was the wildest hunt I have ever been on. Crawling in the thickest rose thorned bushes with dogs and hog snarling to stick a hog with a knife, is a moment I will never forget. Try to find one of those.
