Elkhorn fire

I recently became a member here and I've really enjoyed reading the posts. This is a great site and I've gained a lot of insight from it already. My friends and I will be heading south the end of the month. This will be our third year in a row making the trip from Colorado. We hunted 36a two years ago and killed two bucks and a lion between the four of us. Last year we hunted 36c and went two for four. We spent most of our time around the area it sounds like the fire was in. I am wondering how bad the fire was. Did it burn out the area completely, or is there still some decent vegetation left? I can be more specific on where, but I want to respect the etiquette of the members of the site and those that might hunt the area. Thanks for letting me be a part of what seems like a neat community.

Thanks, I appreciate it. It's a great site. I know there was a big fire this past summer, I thought it was around Elkhorn Ranch, and was wondering how bad it burned.

There was a big fire south of the Elk Horn this past spring. The fire discussed in the above posted thread was last month the Three Peaks Fire - not the elk horn fire. They are two different fires.
