GameHauler Report post Posted November 12, 2009 Do a SEARCH here for lock box and will find many Ideas. I will mention again and will probably catch crap again but, I or any thief could still have your cam in less than 5 minutes. No, I would never steal from someone but there is really no way to stop them using the method they are using No I will not post how they are doing it for everyone in the world to see
wtmtnterror Report post Posted November 12, 2009 I have made a few myself, mostly one offs. It depends what your time is worth but for the money I think these are an excellent box. http://myownstore.camlockbox.com/Product_l...ID=526&pg=1 I have only used the heavy duty models which are built from 10 gauge steel and they are stout. Just keep in mind if someone wants your camera they will get it anyway. the best security in the world won't help if you put it out in a high traffic area such as a water hole next to a road, I would try to conceal it as well as possible, and sometimes that doesn’t even work. There are several companies now that are making much smaller cams which allow you to hide them a little better than some of the older models.
coues7 Report post Posted November 12, 2009 The best thing you can do to protect your cameras is to 3d camo them......they can't steal what they can't find. No lock, no lock box, no cable lock will prevent a camera from getting stolen. Concealment is key to keeping your cams from getting stolen. My buddy has lots of pictures of others checking their cameras on the same water hole as he has his camera on.....and the guys likely have no idea there is another camera there! Again do yourself a favor and 3D camo your camera.

reddog Report post Posted November 13, 2009 coues7, any advice on how to a 3d camo job? thanks
coues7 Report post Posted November 13, 2009 Yes use acrylic paints from Walmart or any craft store. Get a tube of the "original" liquid nails project. rough up the box that the camera is in and start putting on the liquid nails. DO NOT GO TO THICK AND DO NOT PAINT UNTIL IT IS FULLY DRY. This normally takes about 24 hours. After about 15 minutes of drying get a razor blade and drag it through the liquid nail in order to get your 3d texture.....then simply paint it to match the surrounding it will be in. You could ask runningbird, bowsniper or treestandman for some pics.....they've all used my cameras. Scott
