elkhunter Report post Posted November 11, 2009 Hey guys, I managed to lose my pistol when helping my sister's hunt, it's a Ruger GP100 .357 mag with 5 rounds of reload shells, I left it on a hillside and forgot to put it back in my backpack, turns out someone else got to the spot and picked it up before I was able to realize I left my gun there, I know some of you fellas were hunting that unit, thanks for the help! WadeNAZ Report post Posted November 11, 2009 Good luck. I sure hope the person that found it will report it. It might also be worth a call to BP. Down there it is just as likely there is one more armed Illegal or drug mule.
More D Report post Posted November 11, 2009 During a hunt in 36C 4-5 years ago I dropped my uncle off at a spot for an afternoon hunt. He walked back to camp, about 2 miles worth. When he arrived at camp he did not have his revolver with him. He was so angry with him self because his wife had just bought it for him 3 weeks before as a birthday present. He did not want to go look for it during the hunt because he firgured it was lost for ever. Once back at home he called the Sherrifs dept and filed a report out of fear that some one (a walker) would find it a do something illegal with it. Two months later we finally convinced him to go look for it, about 7 family members in all went. It was found within the hour about 100 yards from where I dropped off my uncle but in the opposite direction in which he walked. Weird . Even weirder was that the revolver was empty, no bullets, not even empty cases ??? Who ever found it took the rounds out of it and tossed it. We never could figure out why or what happened during the 2 months it was lost.
lionhunter Report post Posted November 11, 2009 I was lion hunting horseback in unit 10 years ago and lost my wallet. It was full of credit cards, and $250 cash. I wrote it off as lost because we had ridden a 15 mile loop cross country. At any rate, 2 weeks later it showed up in my mail box..... cash and all. Keep up the faith. stanley Report post Posted November 11, 2009 Hey Tyler, I was in 36A last weekend also. I'm heading down next weekend (11/19-11/22) with my kids and some friends for the Youth Hunt. I'll be camping and helping with the SCI / G&F Junior Hunters Camp. I'll be sure to ask around while I'm there. Also, feel free to stop by if you would like (Look me up if you come by camp). It's at the Batamote Road location. Lots of locals come through there, so you might find info. Needle in a haystack.... Good luck! S.
