GonePointing Report post Posted November 9, 2009 I have to tell you I had a mixed day today when I went to unit 23 to check my cameras. I have some real nice bulls on camera and since I have an archery bull tag that starts this Friday I am really excited. However, while on this trip today I learned that some people just don't deserve to be in the woods to hunt. I went to one of my favorite spots to check the camera and replace batts and when I got there no camera. Then I looked up in the tree to see if my stand was still hanging and that was gone as well. Apparently someone else needed my stand and camera more than I did. The stand was even locked to the tree so they must have cut the lock to get it away. I hear of these kinds of things happening all the time but I never had it happen to me until today. I am really pissed about this but what can I do! This location is very well hidden and is not on any topo maps so either it is someone who knew I had it there (maybe local rancher or ranch hands) or someone who was just lucky enough to stumble onto it. There is nothing I can do about it but boy does it make me mad! I just don't understand how someone can be that way. I would love to catch up with that person. To be so low to steal these items. Buy your own darn stuff you thief.
Guest borderboy Report post Posted November 9, 2009 There are plenty of buttholes out there. I once parked at a spot that I had used since I was a kid. I was out and happened to look back to my truck and saw several vehicles by it. I glassed them up and they were law enforcement. One was a Customs Agent I knew. i went back to find that someone had broken all of my glass and took a Garmin GPS 3+ with mount and all. Deputys said it was UDAs but I don't think so. There's always someone that wants what others have but don't want to earn their own. Sooner or later their deeds will catch up to them. I put the whammy on them. TAIL CHASER Report post Posted November 9, 2009 That is a horrable feeling. I had a camera stolen 2 months ago and it made me sick. It was in a very remote location and only there for a week. People need to learn how to keep their hands to themselves and off other peoples $#!%. I feel your pain!!! Jason
AZLance Report post Posted November 9, 2009 Check with the area Forest service office. I saw a FS guy last week with a dozen stands in the back of his truck. He said that these stands had been left unattended for more than a week.

He said he gives 24hours but they can pull them as soon as they find them if they are unoccupied.

What are they thinking and why waist our tax money on guys looking for stands when they should be enforcing ATV laws instead of restricting us lawful users. Government and thieves are about as low on my totem pole as they get.

Best of luck next week. We will be over there all weekend and most of the 2 weeks since my boy has the tag and we will be scouting for the rifle hunt as well.... Give me a call.
