thegunsmith2506 Report post Posted November 7, 2009 We went out to do a little elk scouting today, and decided to make a few stands. About 30 seconds into the first stand my wife shot her first called coyote at about 15ft. I got the second one. On the 3rd stand we had a fox come in to about 10ft from my wife. She was so surprised that she missed the shot. It was a pretty good day for us.
Ernesto C Report post Posted November 7, 2009 Excellent you two had a good day! What size shot were you using? Ernesto C
thegunsmith2506 Report post Posted November 7, 2009 Hi, She was shooting 2-3/4 #4 buck, and I was shooting 3-1/2 #4 buck. I would like to try the Dead Coyote load, but its pretty pricey. When I can find it I use #4, if I can't, I shoot 3-1/2 00 buck. With the #4 buck I can make clean kills out to 70yds, and it doesn't tear them up too bad at point blank. Ernesto C Report post Posted November 8, 2009 Thanks, I will try the #4's. It is getting colder which it means is getting better to go out and call some dogs. I got one last week on the 3rd set up but it was to hot that day. Ernesto C
