After you read this email and when someone greets you with "Happy Holidays" this Christmas Season, come back to them with a loud "MERRY CHRISTMAS". I hope you will agree with me that Christ should be put back into Christmas. Why have we been 'pussy-footing' around and allowing a handful of people take advantage of us and take our meaning of Christmas away from us. What are we, affraid that 'someone is going to put out' by being greeted them with a Merry Christmas? We're celebrating the Birth of the Christ Child, NOT the birth of a Holiday. So, I dare you, take me up on my challenge. OK? MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone. And while I'm on my soapbox, how about a little more of, In God We Trust. That works pretty darned good too. Doesn't it? As y'all know, I'm not one to be spouting off like this.............but dang it all, why can't we have what WE want and not some anti-Christ group getting what they want? HUH? If you don't agree with me, then delete this email. I DARE YOU! *Twas the month before Christmas* *When all through our land,* *Not a Christian was praying* *Nor taking a stand.* *See the PC Police had taken away,* *The reason for Christmas - no one could say.* *The children were told by their schools not to sing,* *About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.* *It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say* * December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.* *Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit* *Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!* *CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod* *Something was changing, something quite odd! * *Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa* *In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.* *As Targets were hanging their trees upside down* * At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.* *At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears* *You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.* *Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty* *Are words that were used to intimidate me.* *Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen* *On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !* *At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter* *To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.* *And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith* * Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace* *The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded* *The reason for the season, stopped before it started.* *So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'* *Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.* *Choose your words carefully, choose what you say* *Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS , not Happy Holiday !* Please, all Christians join together and wish everyone you meet MERRY CHRISTMAS Christ is ?The Reason' for the Christ-mas Season! Snapshot Report post Posted November 8, 2009 I agree 100% Mike. I have felt like that for along time. Too much "commercialization" of Christmas, both in the material and religous aspects of it. If someone is offended by saying "Merry Christmas" to them, well then too bad, so sad! Christmas is Christ's birthday and should be celebrated as such,or not at all! bowsniper Report post Posted November 8, 2009 You are pouring gas on a fire! This one drives me nuts! A few years back, some exec from my companies corporate came out to our facility a week or two before CHRISTmas. The suit wanted to shake everyone's hand, so all 2000 of us stood in a line for the germ transfer. When he got to me he said "Happy Holidays!!!". I said, "Merry Christmas!!!" The suit gave me a funny look and said, "Oh, it's so hard to tell". And I said, "not really, when 96% of the people in the US celebrate Christmas in some way, it's a pretty safe bet". I really expected to be looking for new job after CHRISTmas, but nothing ever came of it. HE is taking care of me! Another one that is driving me nuts is BCE (before common event) For 2000 years it has been BC, before Christ. Even though all historians and most religions believe that Christ really did walk on earth 2000 years ago, it's just another move to purge the word "Christ" from the language.
