COOSEFAN Report post Posted November 7, 2009 This morning the deer were up but all were moving fast to bedding areas, very little activity midday. Tonight was awesome, seemed like all the deer were up early feeding in close to bedding areas on North facing ridges, saw 8 bucks, killed 2, biggest was just under 90", just got done skinnin and cuttin meat and finally in bed! 1 more tag to go! bobbyo Report post Posted November 7, 2009 This thread is real useful. From all your observations it seems a full moon could cause a deer to be active early morning or early mid-morning or late mid morning or plain ole mid morning or even early late morning or possibly late mid morning or late morning or mid day to change shade or mid day when the moon is up or early afternoon to mid afternoon or early afternoon or early mid afternoon or late afternoon to mid evening or mid evening to late evening. Now I know now when to concentrate my hunting time during full moons. I owe you all a debt of gratitude for narrowing down the precise time for me. Thank you, Bob

CouseforLife Report post Posted November 9, 2009 When I have hunted the southern half during a full moon, as soon as the sun came up and was visible it was like cockroaches. The deer went into hiding almost immediatly but were up earlier in the evening. In all my hunts further north it seems the deer bedded earlier but were still feeding at first light. I also notice they move around more in the afternoon. I wonder if maybe the cooler temps in the north had something to do with it. I prefer no moon on my hunts and that is when I see the most deer moving pretty much all day.
