arizonaelitefreak Report post Posted November 1, 2009 Some freinds of mine had the 24a hunt and were real unfamiliar with the unit so they gave me a call, I was glad to help out as I have been out lately and have seen some good deer. So they pick me up at the house at 445 this morning and we head up the hill to the spot. Its really windy and im thinking the day I have people with me we wont see anything ( isnt it always like that) bout that time doug says hey got some, they had a doe and a fawn some pigs and then comes out another doe and this lil 1x2. So we think about it for a while, but since they only had today to hunt nick opted to try and make the shot. So we move down the hill to get closer and since the deer were in no hurry to move out of the sun we had time. We got to the edge of the canyon and set up, ranged him @ 325 yards al settled in and when all was ready BOOM! One shot from the 7mm mag and this guy dropped like a bad habit. All this by 8:09 am. then comes the fun of getting to the deer. We get to him and drag him to the bottom where we have some shade and bone him out for the trek back up, load the packs and up the hill we go. talk about some steep canyons. but we made it back to the truck bout 11am and here we are at home on sunday ready to watch football and hunting. what a way to spend a sunday!! I dont have the permission of the hunter so theres just pics of the hill and the buck!
