Nice but sad find

Recommended Posts

Went out yesterday with my wife and four kids to look at the hunting area that I have hunted in the past and where my wife and 13 year old are wanting to bow hunt come December. It looked completely different then it did in January when I took my buck. We looked around for a while and did a little shed hunting. Ended up finding this nice pick up and didn't realize at the time that this was the buck that I had been searching for. I rough scored him at 103 4/8". Sure wish that my boy would have had a chance to stick him.

Hey southerncoueshunter,

This is louie the coues caller that is a nice buck. Dont remember seeing him last year! Anyways thats a bummer that is had to die that way. I think there is going to be alot of potential there this year. Great sign. Congrats on the find.

Very nice find! I know that must be disapointing that he's not there to hunt now but I'll bet his genes are still in the area. Go get his brother or heck, go get his daddy! ;)

He's out of the running but his genes are there. Hunt that area hard and I'd bet dollars to donuts you'll find another buck with his awesome genetics.

I have thought about that, but don't know if I want to pony up the dough for a cape. If I shoot a smaller buck in January, I might steal the cape off of that one, but I know that if the wife or boy get one they will want theirs mounted.
