My friend and I took our sons (their hunt) down south and hunted between the Patagonias and Canelo Hills. It was pretty dissapointing. We saw very few deer. The grass was very tall and very dead. Even though it was very good looking country the deer just weren't to be found. On another note some other friends hunted Unit 29 and shot 100 inch plus deer, and my boss shot a respectable buck in 36A. I hope my hunt in November will be as good.

I hunted 35B this past weekend. Out of our group (6 hunters), I was the only one lucky enough to get one. We had scouted several weekends and the one I took was definately not the biggest that we had seen preseason, but will do very nicely. I didn't take any measurements myself, but the taxidermist said it would probably go 90+ points ---- and this was a 2x2 (at least the way they count points out west - otherwise would be a 4x3 back east with the 4th point being a 1-1/2 inch little point on the main beam). Seemed pretty tall and wide to me. What a beautiful deer and a heck of a hunt!

IN FOUR DAYS WE SEEN LOTS OF DOES, WE DID SEE A SPIKE OPENING DAY IN THE AFTERNOON, HE WAS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY, SEEN A TWO POINT ON SATURDAY EVENING, WE JUMPED HIM UP OUT OF A SMALL RAVINE, MY BROTHER TOOK A SHOT AT ABOUT A HUNDRED YARDS ON THE RUN, MISSED, WE DID NOT SEE HIM AGAIN. ALL THE BUCKS WE SPOTTED WHILE SCOUTING WE DID NOT SEE DURING OUR HUNT, TALKING WITH OTHER PEOPLE IN 35A WE DID NOT HEAR OF ANYBODY GETTING DEER. A HUNTING TRIP, WHETHER YOU GET ONE OR NOT IS STILL A GOOD TRIP.

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD HUNTING TO ALL

I hunted 36C, opening morning glass a forky I chose not to shoot,we stay out all day,it was very hot,my tripod broke so I still hunt the evening walking slowly towards my brother I saw a doe and push a big buck up hill to the rigth of my brother he was not able to shoot because of the sun ligth hitting his scope,he said it was a big one. Second and third day several does but no bucks;finaly on the last day after seeing several does I saw a shooter and just when I was goig to pull the trigger he move behind a tree and did not see him again but,I knew he was there I had to wait for 3hrs my hart want it to come out of my chest but finaly he presented a shot.I hit it right trhu the lungs and he still walk about 20 yds!! I was happier than ever when I found him;went to look for my brother so he can help me to get it out of the canyon,it took us almost 5 hrs to get it out to the nearest road.

Unforgettable hunt not only because I was succesfull but because the Lord save my life after a really close encounter with a rattler snake,I saw a total of three snakes, for a moment I was thinking to quit my hunt.God bless you all.

My friend and I hunted 35B. We saw 37 deer, 2 herds of Javelina, several coyotes, and one bear. 14 of the deer were bucks. We only saw 2 with antlers past their ears. They were about 80pt 3 pts. On Sunday morning we both shot small 3pts. It was a fun hunt.

I hunted with my son and another guy friday, saturday and sunday. We saw 12 bucks and 15 or so does. My son is 10 and I had him on deer twice but he had a tough time trying to find them in the scope. I saw 2 real shooters and the rest were smaller bucks. The wind played havoc with us on sunday, it was blowing around 40 miles and hour so the deer were not moving at all. Saw lots of hunters and had bucks bumped twice by still hunters walking over the ridge we were glassing. Glad everyone had a good hunt.......Allen Taylor.......

I was hunting unit 30A and shot a good 3x3 and passed up four little guys and saw about 30 does. The amount of hunters in the area was very high and made parts of the hunt very stressful. One spot I could see 13 diff hunters and saw two guys shooting at some mule deer does from about 700 yards so my hunt was very eventful.
