W.O.T Report post Posted October 19, 2009 What are yall using to support or brace your rifle for all those long distance shots? I have the outdoorsmans tripod and pistol grip... Is there something that can attach to that for secure, stable shots?
loco4coues Report post Posted October 19, 2009 I lay prone, using a bipod on the front of my rifle and my pack under the butt. I get rock steady and squeeze it off. I haven't been in a situation yet where I couldn't get steady using this method. Long distance for me is anything over 400 yds.
azgutpile Report post Posted October 19, 2009 I use my glassing tripod (either the adjustment knob or the pistol grip turned sideways) to support the front of my rifle and a pair of stoney point shooting sticks to support the back. This will put you above most of the small shrubs and grasses and is very steady. I've actually gotten the gun in position and then switched positions with a friend and the gun was right on target when he looked through the scope.
JLG Report post Posted October 20, 2009 You could buy the CLAW. Do a search here and you will find the information. A member here manufactures it and sells it, Take Care, JLG.

audsley Report post Posted October 21, 2009 Where I hunt there's usually big rocks around. Have long backpack that I lay on the rocks and shoot off that. Sometimes I put a wadded up jacket under the stock.
